Jejaring Agensi Budaya dalam Batik Music Festival 2019: Analisis Actor-Network Theory di Candi Prambanan

Abstract

Culture-based art festivals can be a meeting space between local identity, the creative industry, technology, and destination promotion, but their value is often explained only through the role of humans. The 2019 Batik Music Festival brought together batik, Prambanan Temple, and popular music in a cultural tourism event that required wearing batik attributes. This study aims to explain how the relationship between human actors, non-human actors, and artworks shapes the organization and meaning of the Batik Music Festival based on Actor-Network Theory. The research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with a case study; data were collected through literature review, event documentation, and organizer interview quotes found in the initial manuscript. The analysis results show that the success of the festival is not only determined by the performers, audience, sponsors, and event organizers, but also by Prambanan Temple, batik attributes, the stage, lighting, sound system, walkie-talkies, Wi-Fi, cameras, as well as music and batik works. Thus, the Batik Music Festival can become a model for developing culture-based tourism events that integrate identity preservation, contemporary experiences, business opportunities, and destination promotion.
