About the Journal

The GLOBE Forum 2026 is an international academic webinar organized by the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Harapan Bangsa, Indonesia. GLOBE stands for Global Learning, Opportunities, and Bridges in English Education, reflecting the forum’s commitment to fostering international dialogue and collaboration in the field of English language education.

The forum is held under the theme “English Language Education for Sustainable Futures: Technology, Culture, and Global Competence.” This theme emphasizes the evolving role of English language education in responding to global challenges through the integration of digital technology, cultural awareness, and sustainability-oriented global competence.

GLOBE Forum 2026 provides a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas, research findings, and best practices related to contemporary English language education. The forum highlights not only pedagogical innovation and educational technology but also the importance of preserving local cultural values within a globalized learning environment.

The conference is designed to strengthen international academic networking, promote cross-border research collaboration, and support institutional internationalization efforts. Through plenary sessions, parallel paper presentations, and interactive discussions, participants are encouraged to critically engage with current issues and future directions in English language education.

GLOBE Forum 2026 is conducted fully online via Zoom and targets lecturers, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, education practitioners, and the general public. The event also opens opportunities for collaboration with international partners and co-host institutions, particularly those with existing academic cooperation agreements.

This forum represents a strategic academic initiative to position English language education as a key driver in building inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable global education ecosystems.

Global Learning, Opportunities, and Bridges in English Education
English Language Education for Sustainable Futures: Technology, Culture, and Global Competence

The English Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Harapan Bangsa, Indonesia, cordially invites academics, researchers, educators, practitioners, and postgraduate students to submit original papers to The 1st GLOBE Forum 2026, an international academic webinar to be held online in 2026.

GLOBE Forum 2026 aims to provide an international scholarly platform for discussing contemporary issues, research findings, and innovative practices in English language education within the context of sustainability, technological advancement, cultural diversity, and global competence. The forum encourages interdisciplinary perspectives and cross-cultural dialogue that contribute to the future development of English education in global and local contexts.

Conference Themes and Topics

Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  1. English language teaching and learning in the digital era

  2. Educational technology and innovation in ELT

  3. Global competence and intercultural communication

  4. Culture, identity, and local wisdom in English education

  5. Sustainable education and curriculum development

  6. Teacher professional development and lifelong learning

  7. Assessment, evaluation, and policy in English language education

  8. Applied linguistics and English for specific purposes

  9. English education in higher education and teacher training contexts

Submission Guidelines

Submitted papers must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will undergo a peer review process conducted by reviewers from Universitas Harapan Bangsa and collaborating institutions.

Accepted papers will be presented in parallel sessions during the conference. Selected papers will be considered for publication opportunities in affiliated academic outlets, subject to editorial and reviewer requirements.
