1. Can manuscripts be submitted via email?

No. All manuscripts must be submitted through the Viva Medika Journal Online Journal System (OJS). Submissions sent via email will not be processed.

2. How long does the article processing take at Viva Medika Journal?

The average processing time is as follows:

  • Submission to First Decision: approximately 7 days

  • Submission to Acceptance: approximately 50 days

  • Acceptance to Online Publication: approximately 12 days (After Accepted)

  • Acceptance Rate: 20%

Processing times may vary depending on manuscript completeness and the review process.

3. What are the publication fees?

The publication fees at Viva Medika Journal are:

  • Submission Fee: IDR 0,-

  • Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 500,000,- (payable only if the article is accepted)

  • APC IDR 0,- for authors who collaborate with international academics

4. Where can I download the manuscript template?

The manuscript template can be downloaded from the official Viva Medika Journal website under the Author Guidelines / Template section.

5. Is it possible to obtain a fast Letter of Acceptance (LoA)?

No. All manuscripts are processed according to the journal’s standard procedures, which include:

  • Editorial assessment

  • Internal and external reviewers

  • Double-Blind Peer Review

A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued only after the manuscript has been officially accepted.

6. Can I withdraw my manuscript?

Yes, under the following conditions:

- A manuscript may be withdrawn if it has not yet been assigned to reviewers

- If a manuscript is withdrawn during the revision stage, sanctions will be applied in accordance with the journal’s policy

7. What is Ethical Clearance?

Ethical Clearance is an official approval granted by an authorized ethics committee stating that a research study has met ethical standards and principles. It ensures that the research protects the rights, safety, dignity, and well-being of human participants, and that the study is conducted in accordance with applicable ethical guidelines and regulations.

8. How can Ethical Clearance be obtained?

Ethical Clearance can be obtained through an ethical review process conducted by an official health or research ethics committee. In Indonesia, this includes ethics committees under the Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia) or universities and academic institutions that have established an authorized Ethics Committee. Researchers must submit their research proposal and supporting documents for an ethical feasibility review (ethical review test).

9. What is the maximum acceptable plagiarism percentage?

The maximum acceptable plagiarism similarity index is 25%. However, authors are strongly encouraged to keep the similarity score below 25% to ensure originality and academic integrity.

10. Does a review article require Ethical Clearance?

No, Ethical Clearance is not required for review articles. However, review articles must include at least 35 references from reputable international journals to ensure scholarly depth and credibility.

11. How many times is the journal published each year?

Viva Medika is published three (3) times a year, with issues released in March, July, and November.

12. How many articles are published in each issue?

Each issue of Viva Medika publishes a minimum of 5 articles and a maximum of 15 articles.

13. Is a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) provided?

Yes, a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) will be provided upon the author’s request after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

14. Can the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) be expedited?

Yes, the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) can be expedited. Once the manuscript has completed the review process and is formally accepted by the Editor, the Editor has the authority to issue the LoA for official and legitimate purposes.
